Industrial Closed-Loop Spray Dryers & Solvent Recovery Plants
AKSH Engineering Systems Pvt. Ltd. is a leading manufacturer, supplier, and global exporter of high-precision Closed-Loop Spray Drying Systems based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Engineered specifically for processing flammable organic solvents, toxic formulations, and oxygen-sensitive materials, our closed-cycle spray dryers operate in a completely sealed, inert nitrogen environment to guarantee maximum operational safety, total explosion protection, and up to 100% solvent recovery.
Whether you are drying Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), micro-encapsulated flavors, specialty chemical polymers, or botanical extracts dissolved in ethanol, acetone, or methanol, AKSH Engineering custom-engineers closed-loop systems tailored to your safety requirements and production scale.
How Does a Closed-Loop Spray Dryer Work?
Unlike open-cycle dryers that exhaust process air into the atmosphere, a Closed-Loop Spray Dryer continuously recirculates an inert gas—typically Nitrogen ($\text{N}_2$)—as the drying medium.
-
Inertisation: The drying circuit is purged with nitrogen gas to reduce the internal oxygen concentration below critical safety levels, eliminating fire and explosion risks.
-
Atomization & Evaporation: The solvent-based liquid feed is atomized into the drying chamber, where it contacts heated nitrogen. The solvent rapidly evaporates into vapor without oxidizing or thermally degrading the product.
-
Powder Separation: The dried powder is collected at the base of the chamber and separated using high-efficiency cyclones and sanitary pulse-jet bag filters.
-
Condensation & Solvent Recovery: The solvent-laden nitrogen stream passes through a specialized condenser unit fed with chilled water or brine. The vapor condenses back into liquid for 100% reuse, while the clean nitrogen gas is reheated and recirculated back to the drying tower.
Key Advantages of AKSH Closed-Loop Drying Systems
-
100% Solvent Recovery: Captures and condenses valuable organic solvents for immediate recycling, significantly reducing raw material costs and environmental footprint.
-
Complete Oxygen Control: Prevents thermal degradation, discoloration, and chemical breakdown in oxygen-sensitive materials.
-
Explosion-Proof Safety: Inert gas purging and closed circulation eliminate combustion hazards associated with flammable solvents.
-
Zero Environmental Emissions: Sealed, zero-emission process loop prevents toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from escaping into the environment.
-
c feature & 21 CFR Part 11 Compliance: Designed with stainless steel (SS316L) sanitary polishes, automatic CIP systems, and PLC/SCADA control panels compliant with 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines.
